How do I point my own domain name to my site?

If you want to, you can have your own domain name (like www.myorganization.org) that points to our server for your site. There are 3 steps to accomplish this:

  1. 1) If you haven't already, you will need to purchase a domain from a domain registrar.   (some popular ones are GoDaddy.com, NetworkSolutions.com, and others).

  2. 2) Next, you will need to point your new domain name to your site on CH2V: In your Domain Registrar's control panel, in the DNS section, either:
  3.
  •             - have a CNAME (Alias) record that sets your root to "CH2V.com"
    •                                                             OR
  •             - have an A (Host) record point to the IP address of CH2V.com,
  •               which is: 38.67.1.222

  • 3) Finally, you will need to login to www.ch2v.com (the login you created to register and create your site). On your "Create My Site" page, click on the "Edit" link and add your domain as subdomain (like "www.myorganization.org")

Within an hour or so, browsing to your domain should bring up your CH2V.com website!
